Tales Of Voodoo - Scales Of Death & Nightmare Merchant

Not the first Eerie Publications mag I ever saw or read but the first one I ever bought and brought home with me, it freaked me out good 'n' proper, especially these two tales of tacky terror...

That last panel will always have a special place in my bloodstream...

Wow. LOL! Dementilicious!

I like the covers for these magazines being thrown together from morgue elements. It looks like Dracula is rising from his coffin and saying "Oh great! It's Ballet Wolf Man and Voodoo Cannibal Woman, again. What shenanigans have they been into this time?"

Prof.: Ah, more of the good stuff. Good ol' Eerie. They had a viscous, surreal edge Warren mags never achieved (they were just too arty). Only in Eerie could you see a woman being torn in half by teams of horses while she screamed, or a vampire burping after chugging a bottle of blood.

I miss them terribly. There was never anything like them before or since. I wish we could get some prestige, hard cover reprints.

And what covers! Remember the severed limbs seen in cross-section - like a circle-cut steak with bone in center? Eyes melting or torn from faces, hinging on by tendril roots? -- Mykal

Hi,

I really like your website! And want to ask you if we could make a possible link exchange?

I have just started a new website about health via carpet shampoo.

I could really use a link to my new site! and in favor i will link to your site which will

be more valuable as my site grows bigger :-)

Please return with an answer to my e-mail, simon@zeeberg.com

Thanks,

I was cracking up over your "special place in my bloodstream" comment, but then I was reading these comments and cracked up even harder over the Best Carpet Shampoo inquiry... WTF are some people thinking?

Prof. G, thank you greatly for bringing back some sweet memories for this Web surfer from south La. I remember both of these stories well, published in the same issue with a sick vampire story and some other good and gory horror fun. I have a # of issues of Eerie and Terror Tales and definitely want to try to pick up at least a few issues of Tales of Voodoo too! Thanks again.
